Here’s how we’re making scenic flights in and around the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem a reality offering up value scenic tours to locals, visitors, the differently abled, regional NGO’s and government agencies here in the GYE.
Our wildlife policy is, “First, do no harm.” We do spot wildlife from the air, and when we are privileged enough to do so, we take great care to never disturb natural behaviors. Our minimum flight altitude is 1000 feet above terrain at all times, and this altitude has proven to be more than sufficient to insulate wildlife from our presence. If wildlife reacts to us, we are in the wrong place! We always provide the space for wildlife and livestock to enjoy their day.
Unless we are contracted to count, survey or capture, we will not interact with wildlife on any of our tour flights. Ocassionally, we will provide an aerial platform for photographers. During these photo missions, we will never target wildlife. We do not circle, hover, or chase wildlife or livestock at any time. We trust you understand the importance of the wildlife that calls this area home, and join with us in providing them the space they need to live.
Occasionally, our traffic patterns will place us adjacent to private residences and ranches in the area. Direct overflight of these types of properties cannot always be helped for a variety of reasons. In most cases, our flight routes can be modified if requested. Contact our Owner and Director of Operations Mark Schlaefli to facilitate a conversation on how we can lessen our impacts. Rest assured, as long as it is safe and legal, we will go out of our way to make changes where we can.
